The Sales Support Coordinator will support the Retail/Wholesale Sales team, providing support to the Network & Consortia Account Managers primarily acting as back-up to the Sales Coordinator of this group. Support the various sales teams globally through planning and managing multiple projects, creating reports, and being a key-user in various reporting systems. This position will work closely with the Sales Support Manager and the Retail Account Manager, gathering all materials needed for sales calls and business reviews for national accounts as well as participation in all support needs across the global sales teams.

  • Reporting: Pull weekly and monthly sales data, inventory reports, canceled orders, product overviews, backorders, and sales reports from major retailers. Reporting to include any ad-hoc requests as needed
  • Co-Op Advertising: Calculate advertising pools for accounts. Track co-op advertising and process requests through finance
  • Sell-in Assistance: Prepare new release data to assist in sell-in (STAR pull, and manipulation of data for each customer
  • Key User: Acting as key user for departmental systems, including Salesforce, SAP, BW, STAR, Nielsen BookScan, and Edelweiss
  • Sales Call Support: Gathering and collating all materials needed for sales calls and business reviews for national accounts in support of the Retail Account Manager and Institutional Sales teams
  • Project Participation: Participation in various ad-hoc projects as needed in both the Retail/Wholesale and Institutional Sales teams
  • Vendor Support: Coordinate, track, maintain and submit vendor invoices for co-op promotions.
  • Pricing Sheets: Updating and Creating Network & Consortia renewal pricing sheets during renewal season
  • Quote Support: Providing support for Journals and Journals Archive large quotes, as well as online product uploads and placeholder access
  • Third-Party billing partners: Support with GOBI/Ebrary commission approvals during OSO/UPSO uploads as well as other online products.
  • Back-up Support: Acting as back-up support for various members of the Sales Support team, primarily the Network & Consortia Sales Coordinator

  • Requires attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and a self-starter.
  • An understanding of the publishing industry and its specific reporting needs and common stumbling blocks preferred.
  • Must have excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills, and possess the ability to comfortably liaise with many departments and levels of hierarchy.
  • Must be highly numerate and able to succinctly distill key trends from data.
  • Must be proficient in the full MS Office Suite and possess the ability to learn new software programs and work in them comfortably.
  • Must be willing to travel to sales meetings as required or needed.

This position can be located in Cary, NC, New York and Sunderland, MA
