Position Summary

The Center for Cancer Cell Biology, Immunology and Infection at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Laboratory of Dr. Gustavo Martinez. The work focuses on understanding the transcriptional and epigenetic regulation of T cell biology, which has implications in the areas of infectious diseases, cancer and vaccination.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Candidates will develop skills in mouse model analysis, immune function assays, flow cytometry, biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, next generation sequencing. Candidate will also gain experience in writing and giving presentations. Duties will include cell culture, molecular biology and biochemistry, complex in vivo mouse work (viral infections and cancer), assays of immune function, training of undergraduate and graduate researchers, participation in department activities, presentations at the Center work-in-progress and any other assignments that the PI may request.



Required Education and Experience
  • PhD, MD/PhD in immunology, molecular biology or related fields
  • Solid understanding of basic immunology
  • Experience with mouse models, FACS, molecular biology
  • Be familiar with next-generation sequencing (NGS) approaches.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must achieve satisfactory results from a background check
  • Excellent reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to multi-task, to manage time effectively, and to follow instructions and protocols.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data independently and as a team.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to set priorities and excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work productively with diverse populations; show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in analyzing NGS data
