The selected candidate will support the design, development and testing of new aircraft ice protection systems, and the successful introduction of those products into manufacturing. The position requires a broad engineering design principles as well as basic electrical engineering concepts.
The selected candidate will work within the Ice Protection System engineering team to support the design, development and testing of electro-thermal and pneumatic Ice Protection components from the Bid and Proposal phase through Entry Into Service. The candidate will work alongside other functional groups of the business, including business development, accounting, quality, and manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of mechanical engineering design principles as well as basic electrical engineering concepts, strong communication skills and will exhibit competencies in creative problem solving, bias for action, customer focus, and a drive for self-development.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support new product introduction (NPI) programs from Proposal phase through Design and Development, Production Readiness and Entry Into Service.
Support hands-on prototype development activity with guidance from a senior member of the Engineering team.
Support of Post Certification Engineering (PCE) initiatives for products in-service such as Field Service investigations.
Perform analyses and testing to validate / verify design performance.
Support integrated product team efforts with Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Development, Quality Assurance, Program Management, and Operations.
Participate in team coordination meetings.
Contribute to the improvement of design processes and create standard work instructions as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Autodesk CAD software (Mechanical Desktop, Inventor), skills in technical writing, and an interest in aerospace.
