Amgen is looking for multiple experienced and hardworking Material Coordinators to join the Receiving Team in AML-5 Supply Chain Operations. The facility highlights the combination of groundbreaking manufacturing sciences and process technology, sophisticated equipment, engineering and automation, and a culture of opportunities integrating cross-functional teams from across the site with the goal of achieving being the best manufacturing facility in the world.

The role

This is an exceptional opportunity to seek a variety of challenges and responsibilities around our state-of-the-art Warehouse and Distribution facility. The Receiving process includes receiving raw materials and components to support the manufacturing operations and the product at various manufacturing stages at specification storage temperature requirements in temperature-controlled units or rooms. Product inventory is controlled through an inventory management system, which supports cycle counts and end of day counts.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Handle flow of all materials
  • Prepare materials delivery schedules and effectively evaluate production schedules to determine all required-materials and ensure availability.
  • Receive, store, dispense/weigh, deliver, transfer, reconcile, cycle count, or ship materials per cGMP procedures and regulations, within multiple systems and/or between multiple sites.
  • Use Power Industrial Vehicles (PIV) and in some instances you may operate trucks (flat bed or panel) to move warehouse materials, hazardous materials or general receiving goods following Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Follow complex written procedures, recognize, and report malfunctions and adjustment the equipment as needed.
  • Support non-standard shift operations in a 7/24 format including extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
  • Meet specific team goals and timelines.
  • Work in teams with multiple fields.
  • May act as a resource/trainer and even may lead responsibilities within the work team.
  • Effectively interact with regulatory agencies
  • Essential physical functions of this role are: standing, walking or moving around offices, work site or Amgen buildings, climbing, crawling, crouching, or other non-sitting working positions, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling heavy objects with appropriate industrial equipment, visual/mental concentration on specialized equipment and instruments, extreme temperatures (i.e.: cold/hot rooms) or wetness, fumes, vibrations, dust exposure, among other tasks as per business needs. Exposure to noise, odors, dust, and other conditions that involve the use of protective equipment and/or strict work guidelines.


Basic Qualifications

Associate Degree and 2 years of manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, warehouse, and or supply chain experience within a GMP regulated environment

or

High School Diploma and 4 years of manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, warehouse, and or supply chain experience within a GMP regulated environment

Preferred qualifications

  • Robust knowledge and proven successful track execution operating warehouse equipment, e.g. forklift, pallet jack, special purpose cryogenic equipment, potent compound equipment, etc.
  • Put-away process, transfer orders execution, SAP transactions for Receiving processes.
  • Experience loading and unloading containers
  • Driver's License is required per site or specific job function
  • Ability to safely operate trucks or vans
  • Capable to cautiously handle, transport, and manage hazardous materials
  • Competent performing, operating, and understanding complex equipment per procedures
  • Robust knowledge in computer operations with the ability to operate efficiently and effectively within multiple software applications
  • Intermediate Mathematics and problem-solving skills
  • Organization skills and talent to perform assignments with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Good documentation skills and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize, schedule and coordinate work to meet deadlines
  • Basic Communication Skills in English and Spanish
