The purpose of your role as a Marketing + Communications Assistant

As a Marketing + Communications Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting Harris' Marketing + Communications efforts by developing, producing and maintaining proposal, prequalification and interview materials for RFPs, and as a communications generalist who supports efforts of the entire team. This role is also responsible for Harris's social media and intranet maintenance.

PreQualification & Proposal Support
  • Assist in organizing and completing pre-qualifications, including managing online pre-qual portals and coordinating interdepartmental requests for information.
  • Assist with filing of prequalification renewals and gathering information needed for documentation and annual updates on deadlines.
  • Update and organize prequal library and qualifying materials on a regular basis and as new information from each department is submitted.

Marketing + Communications Collateral Development:
  • Assist in researching, coordinating content and writing, editing, creating, proofreading project sheets, project resumes, proposal content and interview materials.
  • Maintain resumes and project sheets in Cosential. Partner with employees to get updated information included in project sheets and resumes.
  • Add to, remove, generate and maintain proposal repository in Cosential.
  • Manage, maintain and track personnel, client and project references information.

Marketing + Communications Support:
  • Lead social media outlets - using branding and tone consistent with Harris brand. This includes but is not limited to: LinkedIn, Facebook, GlassDoor, YouTube, social media blurbs, web content, and Google updates.
  • Respond to requests for resumes and project sheets from internal customers
  • Assist with project photography and managing digital asset management tool (web assets, photographs, videos, animation, presentations).
  • Assist with tradeshows and event planning by coordinating banner and collateral production.
  • Assist with award submittals and public relations efforts

Intranet Updates, Maintenance, & Writing
  • Create, develop, write intranet news updates as requested
  • Build out intranet pages as requested, adding information to all pages as information becomes available.
  • Suggests ways of tailoring messages and delivery channels based on the targeted audience.

What we're looking for in you
  • 1+ years of experience writing and editing for publication, coordinating complex projects - either gained in an education or professional environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading skills required
  • InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and WordPress experience required
  • Working knowledge of photography design and concepts preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, Journalism, Creative Writing, or related
