The position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer and is critical to the success of the accounting and reporting function. This person is responsible for leading the finance processes and controls related to MSAs connected product offerings and software-oriented safety solutions. In addition, this person will take a leading role in the reporting cycle to ensure the filing of reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission are complete and accurate.



Responsibilities

Lead the technical and operational accounting needs for MSAs connected products and service offerings.

Performs technical accounting research to conclude proper revenue recognition for various software as a service and hardware as a service product offerings.
Implements spreadsheet models / software solutions to ensure the proper US GAAP accounting and disclosures for the above listed offerings.
Manages the forecasting aspect of the recurring revenue model under various scenarios.

Directs MSA + from a finance perspective.

Works with the cross functional team to support the MSA + organization from a finance perspective. This includes helping the MSA + function with the annual planning process, to model commissions and selling expenses and to establish internal controls over the process.

Takes a leading role in MSAs Financial Reporting Team to accomplish recurring and strategic objectives

Participates in the process to prepare form 10-Q quarterly
Assists in due diligence and financial integration for M&A opportunities
Performs accounting research as required to support business needs



Qualifications

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
Solid relationship building skills
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
Proven ability to execute projects on time
Proven ability to deal effectively with ambiguity.
Excellent knowledge of accounting, U.S. generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP), and SEC financial reporting requirements.
Comprehensive knowledge of operational and financial reporting processes.
Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and personnel at all levels within the organization.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred:
Knowledge of SAP ECC ERP systems.
Knowledge in SAP RAR or other revenue recognition software
Understanding of complex business and information technology management processes and controls.

Education Required:

Bachelors degree in Accounting.

Preferred:

CPA
MBA or other advanced degree.

Experience Required:

This role is available at two different career levels based on education, experience, etc.:

Level 1: 5 years of relevant experience
Level II: 7 years of relevant experience

Preferred:

A combination of public accounting and corporate experience.
