Overview

The Live Events Operations Manager is a key member of the Media Engineering & Operations group in Sterling, VA. This role oversees the planning and execution of live broadcast and live Social TV on-air events. This is a highly collaborative position that works in conjunction with Media Engineering & Operations counterparts, as well as network clients, to establish operational and technical requirements for events, determine resources, and see events through to successful completion. This position requires demonstrated proficiency in on-air operations, live production, graphics and Social TV, as well as in navigating high-level production & creative discussions to provide operational and technical input to clients.



Responsibilities

1. Serve as the primary interface for Media Engineering & Operations and network clients through the process of planning and of all live events.
2. Coordinate efforts with all parties involved for each event.
3. Document and distribute live and Social TV event SOPs
4. Build and foster the relationships with network clients to understand each other’s needs.
5. Attend/participate in client creative & production meetings to gather requirements and provide operational input.
6. Oversee metrics reporting for on air live and Social TV events
7. Document and sustain catalog of live and Social TV capabilities
8. Be a hands-on contributor to innovation and implementation of new/revised live & Social TV capabilities based on new technology integration and client/business initiatives.
9. Partner closely with Engineering and IT to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues surrounding live & Social TV events
10. Support Asset Management Operations part-time with on-air graphics production and media management.
11. All other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

* Minimum of 4-years of events planning, production and management.
* Must be flexible to support scheduling for 24/7 broadcast operations, live and Social TV events.
* Must be able to handle high pressure multi-tasking situations.
* Must have strong leadership abilities and the willingness to lead by example.
* Excellent customer service and client management skilled required.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Master Control, serial digital broadcast equipment, broadcast automation systems and social media solutions.
* Must have working knowledge of various graphics software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Vizrt, Vertigo, Overture).
* Strong IT proficiency required including Microsoft Office programs (Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Knowledge/experience with multimedia file formats (.MPG, .MOV, .WMV), file delivery mechanisms and transcode solutions a plus.
* Experience or familiarity with various graphics vendors (creative and technology) preferred.
* This position is considered an essential position. This means that during times of inclement weather, emergencies, or when access to the workplace may be impeded, that employees in this position are expected to report to work to support business continuance, unless otherwise instructed by his/her direct manager.
