Overview

The successful Global Environmental Intern candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside the Global Environmental and Product Stewardship team based out of the MSA Safety Cranberry Township corporate headquarters. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to apply their academic learning and develop valuable skills within a company that manufacturers products that protect lives of workers in communities around the world. The Global Environmental Intern will gain hands-on experience in a multitude of environments including corporate headquarters, manufacturing, and research and development laboratories. The successful candidate will contribute within a team environment by supporting any of the following activities:



Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of Global Environmental requirement documents.
  • Assist with documentation of Climate Risk Management plan, including developing KPIs and data repository.
  • Conduct environmental assessments (scorecards) at local manufacturing facilities.
  • Support the implementation of the SAP Dangerous Goods Master Module.
  • Contribute to the development of the Hazmat SharePoint page.
  • Assist in the development of Hazmat Transportation requirement documents. Create training modules to post on MSA University.
  • Collaborate with the Hazmat / DG Continual Improvement Team.
  • Develop familiarity with Product Stewardship Regulations (REACH, RoHs, Conflict Minerals, CA Prop65) and participate on the Product Stewardship team.
  • Participate on the Global Sustainability Steering Committee.
  • Collect and analyze global natural resource usage data. Assist with creation of Power Bi reports to analyze the data monthly for trends and tracking progress.
  • Investigate Safety Data Sheet management improvement opportunities.


Qualifications

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Creative problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of data analysis and management.

Education and experience required:

  • Incumbent must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, or other relevant discipline, and must have completed at least two semesters prior to the beginning of this opportunity.
