Position Summary:

Field Service Technicians are responsible for developing high quality, detailed and scalable installation practices for 3rd party and client teams to successfully install Lytx products into customer vehicles. Field Service Technicians will leverage their field installation knowledge from start to finish, including client site contact coordination, vehicle and parts inspection, physical installation (mounting, wiring, routing, recording, test and validation) as well as appropriate escalation and communication points to build our vehicle database.

Field Service Technicians work cross-functionally to ensure all technical installation requirements are: defined, documented, and communicated to installation partners and client installation teams.

You get to:
  • Analyze vehicle installation workflows and requirements to design and document the Lytx Gold Standard Installation Processes
  • Convert technical requirements and specifications into practical, manageable business requirements used by 3rd party installation partners and client installation technicians
  • Identify and document new vehicle installation needs (mounting, electrical connections, wire routing, etc.) across all Lytx products
  • Develop and improve 3rd party installation partner qualification, onboarding and readiness
  • Conduct installation quality audits/inspections and training to ensure and improve compliance with Lytx installation processes.
  • Document and communicate audit and quality inspections with an emphasis on continuous improvement
  • Help drive proactive installation improvement methods to support the company's strategic objectives of installation scalability and quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll need:
  • A Bachelor's degree in EE, ME, CS or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience directly supporting an international in vehicle technical product or service. Extensive in-vehicle knowledge with strong vehicle data bus architecture understanding (CAN, J1708, and/or J1939, OBDII). Related certifications or equivalent experience (ASE, manufacturer specific or trade school) a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to document technical installation processes and present client training in a remote environment.
  • Ability to provide in field recap reports clearly identifying key components and action items
  • Must be a self-starter, proactive and dedicated in nature, as well as a team player with experience working cross-functionally (engineering, product development, project management, client support) to deliver results and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills using various software applications such as: MS Excel, MS Word, collaboration tools such as MS Teams, Outlook and online meeting tools
  • Must have the ability to travel up to 80% of time
