The College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at Eastern Washington University (EWU) invites applications for one full-time faculty position to teach Construction Management Technology in the Department of Engineering & Design to begin September 2020. Appointment rank will be either as tenure track Assistant Professor (preferred appointment rank) or Lecturer, depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Eastern Washington University is a midsize regional, comprehensive institution offering high-quality liberal arts and professional undergraduate and graduate programs in Cheney, Spokane and elsewhere in Washington State. The Spokane metropolitan area is home to over 400,00 diverse residents and offers great four-season outdoor recreational opportunities and a vibrant arts and cultural community. We have 5 faculty in the Technology program and roughly 125 undergraduate students. EWU is one of the most culturally and economically diverse universities in the state of Washington and recently won a Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award. Approximately one-third of the students are multicultural and half are first generation to college.

We are seeking broadly trained candidates who will be inspirational teachers role models, and mentors who complement the strengths of our faculty to engage in instructionally-intensive undergraduate programs including distance teaching. Candidates must offer a demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to the diverse needs, including universal access, of our students, faculty, staff and the public is desired. Additionally, all faculty are expected to actively participate in assessment of student learning and to engage in effective teaching.

Primary areas of responsibility include teaching undergraduate Construction Management Technology. For a candidate appointed as tenure track Assistant Professor, additional responsibilities include scholarly activity/industrial outreach, curriculum development, and professional service.
