This position is for an Electrician (Maintenance Mechanic III) who is under minimal supervision. This position works with all level of staff in examining facilities needs and evaluating elements within the infrastructure. The role performs complex equipment installation and machine set-up, electrical feeds and service connections, generators, switchgear, etc. This position works with staff members in development of procedures and work instructions for operation of equipment, use of the facility and other items pertinent to production operations. This role may serve as a resource on varied tasks, to include safety consulting with Environmental Health and Safety.
Primary Responsibilities:
Works under minimal supervision to provide assistance with maintaining equipment, machinery, buildings and structures.
Works with all level of staff in examining facilities and evaluating elements such as HVAC, lighting, power size, condition and suitability for occupancy.
Performs complex equipment installation and machine set-up.
Monitors the delivery of technical support for machinery and training activities to operators and technicians.
Works in development of procedures and work instructions for operation of equipment, machinery and instruments and identifies updates as needed.
Repairs, adjusts and maintains complex production equipment, machinery, or instruments to ensure that it functions reliably and complies with process specifications.
Assists staff in preparing cost estimates for building renovations or space allocations.
Assists with the planning and implementation of the layouts of plant, office, and production equipment in order to provide the maximum utilization of facilities and efficiency of production
Plans, designs, and reconfigures equipment, machinery, buildings, and structures to ensure the optimal utilization of the organization's facilities.
Assesses and evaluates the physical space requirements of the organization and recommends plans to meet needs.
Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.
Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
Ensures proper functioning of facilities through ongoing inspection and maintenance.
Conducts machine inventories and arranges disposal of obsolete or no-longer-required equipment (switch boxes, transformers, feeds, etc.)
Manages facilities contractor management process.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.
Basic Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident Green Card holder
This position requires either:
An AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 10 years of relevant experience is required OR
Must carry a current Class A journey worker or class A master license.
