What you will do

In this vital role you will lead in the space of digital operations systems, making an impact with strategy and roadmap development, as well as flawless execution. You will be a key team member to the OIS Leadership Team, driving the success of the organization as it transforms to a truly digital organization.

OIS is accountable for the delivery of the information and Operations technology systems that enable the successful development, design, manufacturing, distribution and commercialization of Amgen products. OIS is responsible for the development and execution of the IT strategy, architecture and operations by delivering business information systems, IT services and digital technology solutions and devices.

This role provides strategic and tactical direction to ensure optimized and consistent delivery across the organization:
  • Lead the Digital Performance across OIS and provide effective guidance that help drive decisions by the senior leadership team.
  • Focused on supporting performance and critical initiatives that are key to Amgen's future performance.
  • Ensure team achieves key performance metrics
  • Develops approaches to improve OIS productivity and efficiencies.
  • Drives organization and change management to help transform the organization and enable it to adapt to new ways of working like for example DevOps, Agile and Product Teams
  • Manage and control expense for the organization while ensuring resource optimization
  • Advance organizations business and financial acumen.
  • Facilitates the development and implementation of the functional strategy.
  • Drive the organization's goals and objectives aligned with the strategy.
  • Facilitate the design and implementation of the Operations Digital Governance.
  • Runs high volume of projects simultaneously while ensuring consistent delivery of results.
  • Develops solutions to complex problems by leading in-depth analysis, coordination and negotiation with key decision makers.
  • Occasionally conduct project scoping and chartering, define execution strategy and guide project completion.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of Information Systems, Business Performance or Consulting experience

Or

Master's Degree and 8 years Information Systems, Business Performance or Consulting experience

Or

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of Information Systems, Business Performance or Consulting experience

And

4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operational Excellence, Business Performance or Strategy experience
  • Master's Degree in Finance or Business Management
  • 10+ years of experience in the life sciences industry
  • Experience at a top tier consulting firm
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Risk Management
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative skills including financial analysis
  • Good eye for business, high-level strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of commercialization, operations planning, strategic planning, commercial operations, and finance
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate cross functionally
  • Excellent conceptual problem solving/strategy skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems
  • Superior executive verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to drive decisions
  • Proven experience as a member and leader of a high performing team, leadership skills, organizational and project management experience
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel and Power Point
