Job Title: Director of Product Planning (server I/O interfaces)

Looking for a new team member who will be playing an instrumental role in Samsungs memory and storage standardization activity. He/She will be working as an individual contributor and managing Samsungs engagement in multiple industry standards organizations, mainly focusing on PCISIG and NVM Express. Key responsibilities will be planning and executing strategies for industry standards related to Samsungs NAND/SSD products. The individual will lead activities such as defining and evangelizing new interfaces, features, and form factors, assuring readiness of ecosystem for innovative products of Samsung Device Solutions business.   • Leading Samsungs engagements in industry standards activities related with PCISIG and NVM Express.
  • Planning strategic objectives and developing new initiatives for NAND/SSD and other storage related industry standards
  • Identifying new features maximizing benefits from memory and storage devices and enabling key ecosystems
  • Coordinating, mediating and negotiating in standards bodies to achieve balance between the various stakeholders in Semiconductor industry
  • Identifying strategic collaboration opportunities with industry stakeholders in standards bodies to maximize product value proposition
  • Evangelizing new standards and features for key customers and industry partners
  • Providing expert guidance about industry standards internally, toward successful and timely enablement of Samsungs NAND/SSD products
  • Working simultaneously with US colleagues, Korean HQ, and customers to coordinate standardization activities


  • BS degree minimum , MS degree preferred
  • At least 10 years of combined experience in engineering, product management, business development, and standardization in semiconductor industry
  • Direct/Indirect experience in working on memory and storage standards bodies
  • In-depth understanding and engineering experience with DRAM, NAND or SSD products
  • Solid understanding of storage systems and the associated ecosystem of IPs, HW, and SW
  • Strong product/program management skills with proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Superb communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with a proven record of achievement


  • Experience with and solid understanding of large-scale semiconductor production and operations
  • Proven track record in PCISIG or NVM Express standardization activity
  • Experience in company strategy development and long term planning
  • Experience developing/designing/validating PCIe device (Network/Storage/etc) host interface
  • Direct/indirect working experience with Storage OEMs and Hyper-Scale Datacenter is a plus
