Overview

The Director, Brand Strategy and Partner Development will manage all aspects of Discovery Destinations entertainment projects from inception to execution to bring value to the Discovery brands and specific network properties. This position will “own” the project, in coordination with the department VP, from start to finish staying within agreed upon budgets and involving all creative/management stakeholders as needed.



Responsibilities

1. Concept and implement global Location Based Entertainment activations and programs that benefit long-term brand building and revenue growth for Discovery partnerships, including theme parks, adventure/nature parks, water parks, attractions, hotels, restaurants, exhibits and live events around the world.
2. Develop the marketing strategy, plans, and tactics to create brand awareness and drive revenue for key partnerships as well as Discovery Destinations.
3. Perform research and analysis in order to define market segments and understand the competitive landscape.
4. Oversee creative process, get feedback from internal teams, partners and creative stakeholders as needed to execute creative briefs, project kick-off, and concept development. Includes IP integration, use of assets, content inclusion, and talent recommendations.
5. Coordinate and communicate all feedback/approvals between the LBE partners and creative agencies and Discovery Inc brand/creative, marketing, legal, network, rights and clearances, trademark, communications, and senior management teams.
6. Maintain a consistent relationship with LBE partners throughout the project duration with update meetings and regular contact communicating key milestones, priorities and deadlines.
7. Assist in final project completion and approval ensuring that all elements were executed as planned.
8. Coordinates with other functional areas to ensure priorities are consistent with corporate strategic and operational goals.
9. Provide regular updates to senior management on projects, priorities, new developments, and asset creation.
10. Manage day to day needs of LBE team in coordination with department VP.



Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree or minimum of 8 years industry experience with versatility in themed entertainment, branding, storytelling, immersive design and technology
* Experience working with high visibility brands and developing strong relationships with invested stakeholders
* Ability to travel globally is required

* Proven ability to lead, motivate and inspire both internal and external teams that include partners, designers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports
* Strategic and creative thinker
* Strong negotiation skills
* Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
* Organized with attention for details, diplomacy and cross-functional collaborative skills
* Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and project management software and tools
* Deep familiarity for Discovery brands and properties is a plus

* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
