The Townsend Group, a subsidiary of SmithBucklin, is looking for a Creative Ad Ops Specialist to join the team in Washington D.C. The Townsend Group specializes in national advertising, sponsorship and exhibit sales for associations. This is an exciting and challenging position for a detail-oriented individual with a keen interest in digital media and looking to take a leading role in an expanding segment of our business.

As the Creative Ad Ops Specialist your primary role on the team would be to have input on digital advertising campaigns by serving, targeting, optimizing, managing, and reporting on the performance and traffic of online, e-newsletter, webinar and other new digital media campaigns.

What You Will Do

  • Traffic and monitor digital advertising campaigns to ensure full delivery while maximizing creative performance
  • Work with clients to implement website HTML ad tags
  • Manage ad retargeting campaigns (e.g., Feathr)
  • Creation and copywriting of sales promotional emails
  • Develop and execute digital marketing strategies to increase client revenue
  • Monitor general metrics for clients' websites and digital products (e.g., webinars, e-newsletters, and e-blasts)
  • Work with the sales team, clients and 3rd party vendors to facilitate implementation of display and video ads
  • Troubleshoot third-party ad tag implementation and campaign performance
  • Proactively analyze inventory availability to support sales team
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Participate in client meetings on an as-needed basis
  • Keep on top of industry trends in online advertising and ad operations

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years digital advertising operations experience
  • 1-2 years Adobe Creative Suite experience
  • Ad trafficking experience with a major commercial ad serving platform, such as Google DFP, SmartAd Server, DV
  • Experience with HTML (e.g., designing e-newsletters and microsites, developing ad tags)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in digital advertising, publishing, advertising agency or similar industries
  • Experience with promotion email platforms (e.g, Paramount, MailChimp)
  • Experience working in web analytics, data and audience management, and other tracking/reporting platforms (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Experience with third-party ad tags and implementation, and working knowledge of viewability and fraud
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) standards and best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with programmatic advertising is a plus
