We arelooking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking aCorporate Paralegal who will provide strong overall legal support to staff in subcontractreviews, management of the company's insurance certificate process, administrationof automotive and property damage insurance claims, and other legal functionswith initiative, professionalism, and leadership. We are a progressive company with manydifferent service areas, and we value and support internal growth anddevelopment. This is a full-time position located in Burlington, Massachusetts.

The successful candidate will:

  • Draft, assemble, and revise subcontracts, blanket service agreements, work authorizations for the engagement of engineers, consultants, drillers, and contractors.
  • Provide guidance to staff members by verifying whether subcontractors comply with the company's and its clients' insurance requirements, including interacting with subcontractors and/or their insurance brokers to ensure all required insurance documents are in order.
  • Train staff regarding subcontract administration and procedures.
  • Be responsible for obtaining and renewing certificates of insurance for the company's clients, which involves the review of contractual requirements and interaction with the company's insurance representatives, client representatives, and our clients' third party insurance administrators.
  • Proactively manage a certificate of insurance database to keep track of the company's insurance certificates.
  • Work with the General Counsel during the company's annual insurance renewal, including the preparation of insurance renewal applications.
  • Handle and interact with staff members and our insurance representatives with respect to processing and submitting automobile and property damage insurance claims.
  • Assist the Legal team with responding to subpoenas received by the company.

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • 2-4 years' experience working for an engineering consulting, construction, or insurance firm
  • Experience with drafting subcontracts, commercial insurance administration and insurance claims processing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to support and assist staff members in a fact paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively, multi-task, and prioritize
  • Adaptable and detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe
