Join us, and discover why U.S. News & World Report has named us one of Americas Best Hospitals! **What you will be doing in this role:** Under the direction of the Project Manager of Medical Staff Governance, the Committee Coordinator is responsible for developing and overseeing processes related to the operation of the Medical Staff/Performance Improvement Committees. This includes Executive Sessions, as identified in the Medical Staff Rules and Regulations and Performance Improvement Plan, and as assigned by Management. Processes are to be in accordance with accreditation, regulatory and licensing requirements and with consideration of state-of-the-art approaches in the field of operations management. You should demonstrate initiative, independent decision making, resourcefulness and problem-solving skills in applying a detailed knowledge of the responsibilities, functions and underlying management structure of the Department and of the larger Health System in organizing and prioritizing work, establishing procedures and systems and ensuring the orderly and timely flow of business. You will serve as a liaison between Medical Staff Officers and Medical Staff Office, as it relates to Medical Staff/Performance Improvement Committees, peer review and quality improvement efforts. + Demonstrated leadershipability to establish intradepartmental administrative systems and achieveorderly, accurate and timely workflow. + Demonstrated ability tocompose letters, policy statements, procedure manuals and reports on owninitiative. Ability to organize complex statistical and narrative reports,charts and exhibits into a complete document suitable for publication anddistribution. + Advanced minute-takingexperience required. + Ability to createspreadsheets, establishing data bases to produce recurring reports,special reports as needed, and to provide the systems to keep permanentdepartmental records and files. + Proficiency in spreadsheetprograms and presentation applications (including Microsoft Excel andPowerPoint). Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations. + Extensive experience inMicrosoft Word. Ability to word process at a minimum of 60 WPM. Ability toedit material and ensure correct punctuation, spelling and grammar. + Knowledge andunderstanding of the regulatory and administrative policies and proceduresthat apply to the work of meeting management including JCAHO, federal,state and local standards as well as parliamentary procedure (RobertsRules of Order.) + Experience handlingmultiple tasks frequently with short timelines. Prioritizes and organizeswork, completing assignments in a timely, accurate manner. + Interacts professionallywith Medical Staff Leadership, Senior Management, Managers, Directors,Physicians, internal staff and representatives of public agencies andbusinesses. + Possesses effective verbaland written communication skills and excellent customer-relation skills. + Works independently underpressure and use independent judgment. **Requirements:** **Education:** A minimum of two years of college. This should include courses in medical terminology and business software applications (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.) **Licenses/Certifications:** Certified Medical Staff Coordinator (CMSC) highly preferred. **Experience:** + Two years healthcareexperience required, with a medical staff services or quality improvementposition preferred. + Ability to identifyproblems and the resourcefulness to resolve them independently. **Why work here?** Beyond an outstanding benefit package and competitive salaries, we take pride in hiring the best, most committed employees.
