What Youll Do

The Discovery Education CEP Partner Success team seeks a passionate customer success professional who shares our vision for ensuring that every customer realizes the full valued of their solutions, ultimately driving higher retention rates and growth. As a member of the Partner Success team, the ideal candidate will work directly with cross-functional peers in the region to develop and execute effective engagement strategies, assess and manage risk accurately, and provide accurate forecasting of their portfolio and attainment of revenue targets. This role will report directly to the Manager, CEP Partner Success.

The candidates will include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan and maintain an individual book of business, including escalations, objectives, and initiatives in alignment with the Discovery Education Partner Success organization and methodologies
  • Apply understanding of SaaS business models and their overall relationship to customer success
  • Understand, coordinate, and implement systemic professional learning plans within a district
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, education policy, practice and pedagogy. engagement methodology, and deal strategies
  • Assess risk and elevate in order to achieve and exceed quarterly churn targets and focus on sharing finding across the teams and organization
  • Bring planning, focus, and creativity
  • Work with sales and success leaders to identify trends and uncover opportunities for improved or new success engagements or professional development offerings
  • Ability to innovate, persuade, and problem-solve with partners, peers, and cross-functional team members and incorporate all learnings into daily activity

Who You Are:

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a growth mindset, a passion for K-12 and a skill set aligned to the customer success role. She/he will be measured by your ability to retain and grow revenue and quota attainment in complex, solutions sales (products and services) selling involving, multi-level decision makers. Experience and success in the education, EdTech and SaaS industries are a plus.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Leadership: Demonstrate exceptional leadership; strong work ethic driven by a sense of urgency, flawless organizational skills, and ability to inspire others to act and fulfill Discovery Educations mission; Comfortable working across the spectrum from decision makers to front-line users or implementors with an understanding of the challenges customers face in SaaS implementations
  • Collaborative: Positive, solution-oriented team player with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment; Able to innovate and problem-solve with customers and peers and incorporate learnings into daily practices
  • Hustle: The courage and confidence to work hard and with passion; Commitment to getting the job done and bring sustained effort in the face of adversity; Maintain consistency and focus over time with a positive never give up attitude that inspires others
  • Self-Motivation and Self-Starter: Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks; Proactively manage numerous projects, and prioritize competing timelines; Demonstrate a problem solving/ solution-oriented approach
  • Learning Orientation: Always willing to learn something new and share new learning or knowledge with others; Stay up to date on industry trends, engagement methodology, and deal strategies
  • Sense of Humor: Because we all need to laugh sometimes
  • Specifics:
    • Knowledge & Skills: Acumen of retention, churn, and growth metrics; Understanding of value drivers in recurring revenue business models, Able to prepare, present, and revise forecasts based on risk assessments; Strong negotiation skills; Understand, coordinate, and implement systemic professional learning plans within a partnership;
    • Technical Skills: Salesforce, Gainsight (preferred), Microsoft Office
    • Professional Experience: Experience in education, education technology and/or customer success/service or sales
    • Education: Bachelors degree or higher
    • Flexibility/Travel: Remote work with ability to travel 10-20% 20-30% of the time
