Alfred State is seeking a proactive and energetic Academic Success Coach with excellent communication, technology and problem-solving skills. This critical position supports an innovative and holistic approach to providing students with the assistance, guidance, advisement and resources necessary to be successful. Our success coaches work closely with a team of academic success professionals and faculty to support first years students, at-risk students, probation students, and early warnings from faculty. The successful candidate would be responsible for a caseload of approximately 150 undergraduate students.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to our academic programs and the college's mission.
  • Higher education teaching and/or tutoring experience, preferred.
  • Education and or experience in at least one of the following: academic advising, career development, course-scheduling, social work, school counseling.
  • Strong intrapersonal and interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office software (specifically, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and ability to use Banner, Starfish, Task Stream systems, as well as the ability to stay current with and embrace emerging office technologies.
  • Experience with online and/or remote education.
  • Some occasional evening and weekends may be required.
  • This is an 11 or 12-month position based on interest, experience and qualifications.
