ABOUT THE ROLE:

Job Summary

Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of the 2nd shift GILLIG maintenance technicians and outside service contractors with the major focus on completing scheduled preventative maintenance related activities. In addition, this position supervises all remaining 2nd shift production employees and ensures completion of all work assignments laid out by 1st shift Manufacturing Management. This individual is required to ensure that the organization's safety policy, procedures, and process are followed at all times.

This position is being offered on 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.).



Responsibilities

  • Supervises the GILLIG maintenance staff, related outside service contractors, and production operators
  • Leads the maintenance team to successful completion of scheduled maintenance and inspection of equipment including but not limited to: HVAC, Industrial Filtration Systems, Compressors, Industrial Process Equipment, Overhead Cranes, Site Utilities (Water, Power, Waste, Gas, Compressed Air), Electric Motors (.25hp to 150hp+), Elevators, Instruments, Machine Controls (PLC and Analog) , Liquid and Powder Coating Paint Booth Enclosures/Systems, etc
  • Utilizes problem solving techniques to identify root cause, i.e. Fish Bone, 5 Way, PDCA, and 8D
  • Monitors production operators to ensure their work is being completed on schedule and to escalate issues to production leadership when required
  • Utilizes the CMMS systems on a daily basis to organize scheduled maintenance tasks
  • Responds to and resolves problems and/or complaints raised by facility occupants in a systematic and professional manner with follow up correspondence
  • Ensures timely responses by internal maintenance personnel, outside contractors, and production operators for any needed work
  • Ensures GILLIG safety policy is implemented and followed by both GILLIG maintenance technicians, outside service contractors, and production operators
  • Works according to established company policies and procedures, seeking guidance as needed
  • Proactively coordinates maintenance and production related activities with other respective departments to establish and maintain good working relationships
  • Performs other facility related duties as required

ABOUT YOU:

Desired Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree in an engineering field preferably Mechanical or Electrical. Relative work experience and education will be considered in lieu of a 2-year technical degree
  • 5-years' experience in Operations & Maintenance Management of an industrial manufacturing facility
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Experience in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Experience using Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor facility mechanical systems.
  • Effective using handwritten documents and electronic programs
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and schematics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT:

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 50lbs and carry for short distances up to 20ft
  • While performing the duties of the job you may be required to stand, walk, climb ladders, and reach above your head with hands and arms
  • May be required to walk/stand for approximately 80% of working time
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • No limitation in the proper use of respiratory protection equipment
  • May be required to work on elevated equipment and platforms, above 20ft, to complete work

Work Environment (relevant PPE to be provided)

  • Ability to work in both conditioned and non-conditioned workspaces for prolonged periods of time.
  • May be exposed to equipment/processes which produce high decibel levels.
  • Work in close proximity to high energy devises such as electrical switchgear and pressure vessels.
  • May be exposed to chemical odors in the workplace.
